Minehead is equally suitable for those who want a relaxing break or an action-packed holiday of walking, cycling, horse riding or extreme sports. Visit St Michael’s Church on North Hill or Blenheim Gardens open all year with entertainment during the summer. The Regal Theatre has a year-round programme of entertainment. The West Somerset Railway offers outings along the coast and through beautiful Somerset countryside with 10 stations on the 20-mile track to Bishops Lydeard using historic steam and diesel locomotives. Minehead is also the start of the South West Coastal Path (630 miles from Minehead to Poole Harbour for the really keen). Dunster, less than 3 miles away, a village sitting on the edge of Exmoor is worth a visit to wander along the main street with its medieval buildings. The parish church is 15th century, one of the finest in Somerset. Its main attraction is the town's castle above the town with views over Exmoor and the Bristol Channel. Or you may like to enjoy a cream tea sitting alongside the river next to Dunster's still working Water Mill. Lynton & Lynmouth twin villages on the coast of Exmoor National Park in North Devon, a treat to visit, travel between them on the famous funicular cliff railway.
